Weekend Stitching

Just had to work in some stitching this weekend to relax. We have been working feverishly in the yard, and my body was just ready to sit still on Monday. Thank goodness we had the day off--it was a wonderful day with family. I really wanted to stitch up the new patriotic pattern we have, but I left it here at the office on Thursday, so Urban Garden it was instead. Hope you all got some relaxing time with family in this weekend (and some stitching)!

  3. Hi, Im starting a project with the iron on transfers, but have a question. I bought the Aunt Marthas kit and there really isnt any instruction, so my 2 questions are,, 1. Do you use 2 or 3 strands when you are stitching your patterns? and 2. After I iron the transfer on, does it wash off after I stitch it? Thanks for any help,, Im so clueless at this.. lol

  4. Hi!
    1) I personally use 3 strands on most of my embroidery. I do however use 2 strands on words or fine details. I find that it looks better and is easier to use for those little areas.
    2) the washing out part depends on the fabric. Our transfer patterns wash out of most fabrics, but if you are really concerned I suggest doing a test on your fabric before starting your project. My other hint is to wash out your transfer in cold water-applying any further heat will only set the transfer more (since it is heat transfer based). I usually wash mine out in the sink by hand with a little hand soap and cold water. Always comes right out for me. But do keep in mind that a fabric like cotton is absorbent (which is why we love it for drying dishes) so it might hold the ink more than say a poly-cotton.
Hope that helps some! Don't worry, just give it a try, you will learn with each project! You will do great! And always ask questions if you have them--that is what we are hear for!
