Weekend Stitching

Just had to work in some stitching this weekend to relax. We have been working feverishly in the yard, and my body was just ready to sit still on Monday. Thank goodness we had the day off--it was a wonderful day with family. I really wanted to stitch up the new patriotic pattern we have, but I left it here at the office on Thursday, so Urban Garden it was instead. Hope you all got some relaxing time with family in this weekend (and some stitching)!

International Quilt Show 2012

Well, we are back in the office today after a full weekend at the International Quilt Show. It was in Kansas City this year, so lucky us we were in our hometown. I thought I'd share a few photos from this weekend. We were so busy in the booth I didn't get much of a chance to get out and see stuff like I normally do, so the pictures are limited I'm sorry to say.

The weekend started off with Sample Spree, which was a crazy/busy two hours. It was our first time participating, and I am still not sure if we will do it all again next year. It was a lot of hauling stuff back and forth, but I love getting some patterns out to shop owners to stitch up in their free time at nights, so we just might have to do it again. This Sample Spree is basically a chance for the shop owners to buy samples of the new stuff coming so they can get some sample made up for their shop before the fabric comes in.

All the ladies waiting to get into Sample Spree--some were in line for three hours before the Spree opened!

Our lovely Sample Spree booth, and my wonderful Momma who came to help me for the night. We had so much fun!

This was the isle looking down from our booth, we were almost on the far south end, so it was a long room of booths from our viewpoint.
This was our booth--it had tons of new samples in it. We had to show off those new Pattern Books!!

My favorite quilt from the show, it was in the Michael Miller fabric booth I just love the colors, and the asymmetry of it all. So wonderful!
The Retro Redwork Class I helped with Sunday morning. It was so much fun to start the day with some stitching, and I got to know some customers a little better in the process too. We had two ladies all the way from England in our class, it was lovely!

The samples on the bottom left were the project the class worked on. Pepper Corey was the instructor and she brought these other samples with her. They were so beautifully done, I had to share.

A closeup of one of the samples Pepper did up. I just love the colors she chose and the running stitch she used on the words. So pretty!

A Sashiko embroidery style stitch she did on a blue towel she had at home. I love the simple flower and monochromatic color scheme on this one!

Back to the drawing board for now, so many new pattern ideas dancing through my head after the trade show! More on the new Pattern Books tomorrow!

Happy Stitching!

Cute Owl Stitched Up

I saw this owl stitched up over in our Flickr group, I had to share. It is so cute and the colors chosen are just perfect. I have loved our owl pattern for a long time, but always dreaded how 70's it would look in the browns and earth tones I am drawn to.  This is just perfect for it. Thank you so  much Crystal at FiberArtsy for sharing, you rock!

She also stitched up the sun and moon from the SR 6 Gypsy Magic pattern for the baby room and some other vintage AM patterns. Seem them all over on her blog.

Happy Stitching Everyone!

A few more projects done

These samples we had to stitch up for a vendor to photograph. Sondra in our office did these, they look so great I had to share! All the colors sure bring these designs to life. I can't believe how great they look stitched up--there are so many patterns here at CP that I feel like I will never see them all done up!

It is mostly used for quilt blocks, but you could just done one design for  pillow or tea towel if you wanted. They are larger than our traditional tea towel designs, but they are so beautiful when done up!

These two are both from our Holiday Pattern Collection #C-001.

So cute. This has me thinking of Christmas gifts already. I know if I don't start now I will never get them done (like in all those years pasts). Maybe this year will be different :)

Cheers,
Brooke

A few Stitching Projects

From the SR15 Movie Munchies Pattern. I love this one. The inspiration when I was drawing it came from an old diner in my folk's home town. So it will always make me think of our trip to Western KS.

A lovely napkin from the SR19 Modern Linens pattern. We have these napkins in a variety of colors! I just love these for summer.

Cute little diaper cover from the SR 16 Tiny Tots Pattern.  So stink'n cute.

Baby bib (from American Apparel) with a design from SR 16 Tiny Tots.
Well, thought I would post a few pictures of some stitching I have been working on for the Quilt Show trade show booth. It is this weekend in Kansas City, so I have been rushing around getting things ready, but I am so excited about a few things I made up I had to share! Hope everyone is enjoying Spring and getting to be outside a little. I am tackling planting my first garden this year, so it has been busy at my house! Guess something from the Urban Garden pattern will be next for me!

Cheers,
Brooke
